The Mesmer is the paragon of illusion, misdirection, and control. The Mesmer subverts the damage-dealing capacities of others, manipulating the environment to achieve personal goals. While not physically strong, the mesmer can turn the tide of battle with their subtle magics that can cause great chaos and confusion. If you are the sort of player who enjoys messing with your opponent, then the Mesmer is the right Profession for you.

The Mesmer combines well with all of the other professions. Warrior/Mesmer's can use the Mesmer energy theft skills to counteract the low maximum energy pool of a warrior, while skills such as Empathy bring other advantages. A Mesmer/Elementalist benefits greatly from Fast Casting the slow casting Elementalist skills.

Newly created Mesmers start with basic armor. Each piece of armor (boots, gloves, vest and pants) provides 10 armor with the vest and gloves also giving +5 to max energy supply (for a total of +10), while the boots and pants each give +1 to energy regeneration (total of +2). New, and better, armor can be crafted as the Mesmer gains levels.





The Mesmer has access to four Attributes. These are Fast Casting, Domination, Illusion and Inspiration. Distortion and Fast Cast are only available if you take Mesmer as your primary profession.

Fast Casting: (Primary Only) Fast Cast speeds up the casting process when using skills. The higher your Fast Cast attribute, the faster you will be able to cast spells. This is particularly useful for a Mesmer planning to use slow-casting skills.

Domination: Domination affects how powerful skills of the linked attribute are. Most of these spells affect the skill use of others or play with their energy reserves.

Illusions: Illusions affects how powerful skills that are linked to this attribute are. These skills play with the creature's mind and senses, creating reality from falsehood.

Inspiration: Inspiration affects how powerful skills that are linked to this attribute are.
