The Monk profession fills the role of healer and can also cast enchantments to improve both their own, and their allies', abilities. While this might make them sound like a support class, this is not the case. They are not as effective in combat as a Warrior, but they definitely have their place in any group and often take on offensive roles.

Which skills you purchase, and when you purchase them, is entirely up to the player. Some Monks choose a selection of healing-type skills and become support characters, ensuring the Warriors and Rangers stay alive to deal out damage. Other Monks choose a selection of buffs and protection skills and take roles as offensive characters who deal damage slowly but can be very hard to kill. Still others use their holy powers to smite the wicked, and take an offensive role.

When dual-classing, the Monk works very well with any of the other classes. Monk/Warriors (or Warrior/Monks) can buff themselves and become offensively very powerful. Necromancer/Monks benefit from the necromancer ability to regenerate energy whenever a creature dies. These characters typically utilise the offensive spells of the Necromancer and the buffing skills of the Monk. Monk/Rangers (or Ranger/Monks) can buff their animal companions into formidable opponents. Elementalist/Monks can use the Energy Storage capacity of the Elementalist for extra ability to heal.

Newly created Monks start with basic armor. Each piece of armor (boots, gloves, vest and pants) provides 5 armor with the vest and gloves also giving +5 to max energy supply (for a total of +10), while the boots and pants each give +1 to energy regeneration (total of +2). New, and better, armor can be crafted as the Monk gains levels.





The Monk has access to four Attributes. These are Divine Favor,Healing Prayers, Protection Prayers and Smiting Prayers. Divine Favor is only available if you take Monk as your primary profession.

Divine Favor: (Primary Only) Placing points in this Attribute will increase the effectiveness of skills linked to Divine Favor. It will also add extra healing (in the form of approx. 3 HP for each level of Divine Favor) on any Monk spell that is cast on an ally, regardless of whether the spell used is a healing spell.

Healing Prayers: The Healing Attribute governs skills that restore health to others. Skills that are linked to this attribute will be stronger the higher this attribute is.

Protection Prayers: Increases the effectiveness of all skills linked to Protection Prayers. These skills normally provide protection to the subject, either through prevention or removal.

Smiting Prayers: Monks who specialize in smiting abilities use their holy gifts as an offensive weapon. The power of the Gods can be a deadly weapon when used for their purposes.
